Our Platforms¶
A platform is something we build once and then support for everyone. It gives teams a paved road to follow, so that each team does not have to solve the same problems in its own way.
Platforms are not the same as Services. A service is something we run for the University. A platform is something we build on. Most of our platforms are aimed at teams inside UIS, but that is not a boundary we want to draw too firmly. Parts of them are already useful to the wider University, and we expect more of them to be shared out over time.
Every platform listed here has a status.
- Established platforms are in use today and are documented in this site area.
- In development platforms are being built, and are open to early adopters.
- Planned platforms are on our roadmap. They do not exist yet.
Each platform page is a starting point rather than the whole story. It introduces the platform and links out to the tutorials, how-to guides and reference material that go with it.
